Benevento Coach Marco Baroni concedes the last-gasp 1-0 home defeat to Torino “hurt more than the others.”

It had looked set for a goalless draw until Iago Falque’s strike in stoppages.

“A good performance was not enough to wipe out the 0 in the table,” Baroni told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a defeat that hurt more than the others, because in many situations the only thing we got wrong was the final ball. We must find the decisive passes, as it’s the only way to win in Serie A and we’re missing them so far.

“Frankly, considering the performance, a draw would’ve been harsh on us, let alone the defeat. We lost the game at the 93rd minute on an entirely avoidable situation. It’s true that Adem Ljajic gives Iago Falque a great pass, but we should’ve moved differently.

“The important thing is not to lose our enthusiasm. When a newly-promoted side plays well and doesn’t get points, that is a risk.

“I prefer points to compliments. We played with intensity, but it’s not enough. We only have one gear, we run at teams and that’s not right.”
