Marco Verratti believes Paris Saint-Germain “have the means” to win the Champions League this season.
The Ligue 1 side signed both Neymar and Kylian Mbappé in the summer, and got their European campaign off to a flyer by thrashing Celtic 5-0 in Glasgow.
“It was perfect evening,” Verratti told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It was important to win our first match away from home, and we scored a lot of goals. I think we sent a message to ourselves.
“We know the Champions League is our objective, and playing this way we can go far. If we think of being a great team and, above all, a great group, if won’t be easy for anyone to beat us.
“It’s lucky we have strikers like Neymar, Mbappé and [Edinson] Cavani. We have one of the best attacks in Europe and it’s an important resource. Against Celtic they proved to be lethal.
“The details will make the difference, it’s too soon to say if we can win it. We need to take it game-by-game, give our all and try to go as far as possible.
“But yes, I think we have the means to do it.”
