Inter defender Zinho Vanheusden has suffered a knee injury, leaving Luciano Spalletti with just three centre-backs.
The Nerazzurri were looking to sign another centre-back in the summer transfer window, but were unable to get one and intimated they’d put their faith in Vanheusden.
However, the 18-year-old Belgian now looks set to be sidelined for some time, after a knee injury in the UEFA Youth League today.
The youngster was stretchered off in tears after suffering the injury against Dinamo Kiev, with fears he’ll be out for some time.
That leaves Coach Spalletti with only Miranda, Milan Skriniar and Andrea Ranocchia as his central defensive options going forward.
It’s not yet clear how bad the injury is, with Vanheusden to undergo scans today, but he looks set to face an extensive spell on the sidelines.
