Marco Giampaolo reveals “I had a meeting with Juventus eight years ago” but insists “I’m happy at Sampdoria.”
Giampiero was coaching former Serie A side Siena in 2009, at the same time that Juve were struggling to stage a tilt for the Scudetto, but the 50-year-old insists he has no regrets about not taking the Bianconeri job.
“Would I like to replace Allegri? I’m happy at Sampdoria,” he told La Stampa ahead of Sunday’s clash between the two sides.
“Max deserves great praise, even his own job is a tough one. Three titles in a row with two Champions League Finals isn’t that bad…
“Eight years ago, I had a meeting with the Bianconeri, but then it went quiet.
“It wasn’t the best Juve side and maybe I wasn’t ready, but now I see myself well here [at Samp].”
