Chievo Coach Rolando Maran saw “a hard-fought encounter” with Torino in the 1-1 draw that could’ve gone either way.

Stefano Sorrentino parried an Andrea Belotti penalty and Ivan Radovanovic saw red after Marco Benassi cancelled out a Perparim Hetemaj opener.

“We started off very well and could’ve finished off the game, but Toro are a good side and when they manage to pin you back, they have a lot of attacking options,” said Maran in his Press conference.

“My squad showed great character and organisation, bringing home a point that was more than deserved. We wanted to press them high to cut off the supply to their forwards, who can then make the difference.

“We have to work as a team to do well and build moves rather than rely on individual talents. Ultimately, we ran few risks and played very well.

“Sorrentino’s save on the penalty rescued the result, but he didn’t have that much to do. Both sides wanted to win, it was a hard-fought encounter and that’s how it should be.”
