The Partenopei crushed the Ukrainian side at the San Paolo thanks to a curling Lorenzo Insigne stunner from distance, Piotr Zielinski and the little Belgian.

“Lorenzo scored a truly great goal and in my view we needed it in this game, as after breaking the deadlock we did really well. It was tough to find a way through,” Mertens told Mediaset Premium.

In order to qualify, Napoli must beat Feyenoord in Holland and hope Manchester City win in Ukraine.

“We believe in qualification, that is for sure. It’s important to believe, Manchester City can get full points and it’d be good for them too. We want to do well at Feyenoord and then we’ll see.”

Mertens almost set up a remarkable goal when he snuck up behind the ‘keeper to rob the ball, but Zielinski ballooned over an open goal.

“Unfortunately we didn’t score that second goal with Zielinski, but I am very happy that we did well, as it was the moment to prove we could do well in the Champions League too.”
