Sassuolo scored a last-minute winner to beat Bari 2-1 in the Coppa Italia, setting up a Last 16 tie at Atalanta.

Cristian Bucchi's replacement, Giuseppe Iachini, took charge of his first game on the Neroverdi bench, and named a 4-3-3 system with Diego Falcinelli leading the line, flanked by Matteo Politano and Antonino Ragusa.

The Emilian side took the lead after 34 minutes, with Falcinelli running on to a Ragusa pass before firing a left-footed shot beyond Victor De Lucia.

They took that lead into the break, but Nenè equalised from the penalty spot having been fouled by Stefano Sensi.

That prompted Bucchi to bring Domenico Berardi off the bench, but Nenè came close to grabbing a second with 10 minutes to go.

Berardi thought he had scored a late winner, but his volley was somehow clawed out of the corner by De Lucia.

The Bari goalkeeper could do nothing just a minute later though, as Politano struck from outside of the box to send Sassuolo into the next round.
