Giuseppe Rossi has reportedly passed his Genoa medical and will sign a contract over the next 24-48 hours.
The striker is a free agent after the expiry of his deal with Fiorentina and almost 10 months out with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
He flew in last night from America to complete the move to Serie A side Genoa and had a series of medical tests today.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and others, Pepito passed with flying colours and will have the remaining tests tomorrow.
The announcement of a new contract with the former Parma and Manchester United striker is expected at some point on Friday or Saturday.
As he is a free agent, Rossi would be available to play immediately and not wait until the January transfer window opens.
