He already made one appearance on the Neroverdi bench, a last-minute 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over Serie B outfit Bari on Wednesday.
“There isn’t much time to waste now and the sooner we get certain concepts down, the sooner we’ll start picking up points and confidence.
“It’s a tough fixture list to Christmas, so we’ve got to speed things up and have the right attitude, intensity, pace and passion I’ve always had in my teams.
“I know (Fiorentina Coach Stefano) Pioli well, as he was my teammate for many years, so I expect the Viola to be aggressive along with the quality in their individual players. The lads must react to situations and attack them rather than be passive.
“We mustn’t think of what has been, but focus on what comes next. In football, you can concede a goal or go behind, but you put the ball in the centre-circle and get going again straight away.”
