Sinisa Mihajlovic admits Torino have “gained more balance when defending, but lost something in attack” after another draw with Atalanta.

This was their fourth consecutive Serie A stalemate, as Josip Ilicic cancelled out a Nicolas N’Koulou header.

“The draw was the right result between two teams who played open and attacking football,” Miha told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played better in the first half, then after the break Ilicic came on and shook up our plans. The point is not a result to be snubbed, so we keep hold of it gladly.

“The race for Europe is tight, there are many teams within a few points and we’ve got to just keep going. In the long-run, we’ll get there.”

Mihajlovic moved from the 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3 formation, but switched back again in the closing stages with Lucas Boye introduced.

“Last season, we did well playing 4-2-3-1, but in general I always like to play in order to win, not to avoid defeat. With the 4-3-3 we gained more balance when defending, but lost something in attack. We are missing the goals of our strikers, even if today Andrea Belotti put in a strong performance.

“Adem Ljajic is inconsistent, as he performs in fits and starts. He tried to take the game to the opponent today, but made too many mistakes.”
