Andrea Petagna hopes Atalanta draw Nice in the Europa League Round of 32, so can face “my friend Mario Balotelli.”
The striker got the only goal with a glancing header to beat Olympique Lyonnais 1-0 this evening, allowing the Orobici to win their group.
“Finally, I managed to score a goal in Europe,” smiled Petagna on Sky Sport Italia.
“Aside from the goal, tonight we proved that we are a great team against a very strong opponent like Lyon. We are living a dream and I want to thank all the fans who came here. They were magnificent.
“We are the surprise in this tournament, as everyone assumed we were out when they saw the draw. Within us, we had this determination to prove we could play at this level.
“The Coach gets the best out of all of us and Atalanta are a strong club that allow us to focus solely on our football.”
Atalanta go into the draw on Monday and Petagna has a reunion in mind.
“I’d love for us to draw Nice so I can face my friend Balotelli.”
