Lazio winger Felipe Anderson has expressed his delight at putting his injury troubles behind him against Zulte-Waregem on Thursday.
Anderson had yet to make an appearance all season due to tendinopathy, but the winger made his comeback during Lazio’s 3-2 defeat to Zulte in the Europa League, appearing for the final 35 minutes.
“I’ve battled a lot, it was hard to stay patient,” he said after the game.
“We did a good job and I felt very good, although I’m sorry because we couldn’t bring home a positive result.
“Still, we showed good character and got our game back. The defeat was a pity, but we return home with our heads held high.
“I’m happy to be in contention again and I’ll work hard to get back on the field in the best condition.”
