“Now we must move forward with this mentality. This change seems almost miraculous.

“Ballardini gave us great serenity and determination, and now we’re much more of a team and we help each other a lot more.

“Reunion with Gasperini this weekend? It’ll be nice, he was very important for me. He was the one who gave me my break, letting me have two very good seasons.

“Did I expect him to do well at Atalanta? I knew he could do well, and he’s doing particularly great in Europe.

“I hope they got tired yesterday, even if Gasperini teams, from a physical point of view, always work very well.”
