Marco Giampaolo admits Sampdoria not only threw away a 2-0 lead against Cagliari, but also risked losing the game.
The Blucerchiati had a 2-0 lead in Sardinia after just 19 minutes, but fumbled it by conceding twice in just four minutes.
“I have contrasting feelings here,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after the 2-2 thriller.
“We could’ve finished off the game earlier and wasted several chances to make it 3-0. The game was re-opened after an unfortunate error, which changed everything.
“Cagliari and their fans rediscovered their confidence and at that point we could even have lost this match. I put Gianluca Caprari on to send a signal to the squad, that we would lose it our way by playing in the opposition half.
“Looking back, we should’ve dealt with the situation and our emotions better in that five-minute spell.”
