SPAL comeback stuns Verona

SPAL wiped out a 2-0 deficit in the space of 120 seconds, fighting back late on to hold Hellas Verona in a 2-2 thriller.

The battle of the newly-promoted clubs proved to be a fascinating one, while SPAL sported special edition kits to mark the 110th anniversary of the side’s foundation.

Alessio Cerci earned and converted a penalty before Martin Caceres sprung the offside trap for an angled drive.

The Spallini fought back, unlucky to see Alberto Grassi hit the woodwork twice and a Sergio Floccari goal disallowed.

They completed the comeback from 2-0 down to 2-2 in just two minutes, with Alberto Paloschi’s bit of fancy footwork followed by a Mirco Antenucci spot-kick.
