Simone Inzaghi praises the impact of Lucas Leiva at Lazio since his summer arrival from Liverpool.
The 30-year-old arrived in Rome as a replacement for outgoing captain Lucas Biglia and has played a key role in the Biancocelesti’s excellent season so far.
“He is a very important player for us,” Inzaghi said of the Brazilian at a Press conference.
“I knew he would help us but coming from another League I thought it might take a little more time for him to adjust.”
The Lazio boss hailed Leiva’s attitude and willingness to learn Italian quickly as key reasons behind his rapid acclimatisation.
“Since pre-season training I saw immediately that he was learning the language and understanding our football.
“I compliment [Igli] Tare, he talked about the player for one year before we signed him.”
Lucas has made 17 appearances for Lazio so far his season, scoring one goal.
