Napoli turn to Grimaldo?

Napoli have reportedly turned their attention to Benfica’s Alex Grimaldo, as Atletico Madrid won’t sell Sime Vrsaljko in January.

The Partenopei were keen to sign the former Sassuolo full-back, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis revealed yesterday the Spaniards wouldn’t let him leave until the end of the season.

Faouzi Ghoulam is out with a cruciate ligament injury, so the Neapolitans still need reinforcements at full-back and Il Mattino reports they’re ready to offer €20m for Grimaldo.

The 22-year-old has made eight appearances in the Liga Nos so far this season, providing one assist.
