Juve thump Bologna to go second

Miralem Pjanic scored a cheeky free kick, set up one for Mario Mandzukic and Blaise Matuidi got his debut Serie A goal to batter Bologna.

The Bianconeri were missing injured Gigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Benedikt Howedes and Juan Cuadrado, with Paulo Dybala dropped for the second game running due to poor form.

They nonetheless made short work of it at the Stadio Dall’Ara, as Pjanic curled a free kick past Antonio Mirante at the near top corner, then his pass was chested down for Mandzukic’s angled drive.

Matuidi completed the rout in the second half from the edge of the box and Juventus keep their sixth consecutive clean sheet, but above all leapfrog Inter to go into second place.
