Serie B: Pescara warn Zeman

Pescara beat Novara today, but President Daniele Sebastiani announced he could fire Coach Zdenek Zeman anyway.

The tactician’s status has been in the balance for several weeks after a series of setbacks, often fumbling strong leads.

Gaston Brugman got the only goal in today’s 1-0 win.

The problems emerged after Zeman’s Press conference yesterday, in which he confessed that he had tried to hand in his resignation in September.

“I get along well with Sebastiani at dinner, but we have fairly different views on football,” said the ex-Roma and Lazio Coach.

“I don’t think Zeman presented his resignation. Someone who did that with me wouldn’t have been allowed to continue,” replied Sebastiani.

“His Press conference was like a practical joke. If he doesn’t want to remain, he can just tell me. I need to speak to him and I don’t know if he’ll still be on the bench for the next game against Ascoli.”
