Milan have reportedly cancelled their Christmas dinner party but confirm they will go into ‘ritiro’ following Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Verona.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the players, with their families, coaches and directors were supposed to dine together on Monday evening,
However, due to the “difficult time” the Rossoneri are experiencing, the broadcaster claims the meal has been called off.
As a further course of action, Milan have announced that their squad will be in ‘ritiro’ from Tuesday until further notice, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting the decision was made by Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone.
A ‘ritiro’ is essentially a punitive training camp, in which the players stay together before and after training, in an effort to focus their minds.
Next up for Gennaro Gattuso’s side is a Serie A clash with Atalanta on Saturday.
