Inter captain Mauro Icardi admits it will be “difficult” against Sassuolo but “we’ll do everything we can to start the new year well”.
The Nerazzurri lost their first match of the season at home to Udinese on Saturday, and face the Neroverdi this weekend.
Tonight the club held its Christmas party, and the striker spoke to reporters about the current state of the team.
“Today we’re here with an unhappy result,” Icardi admitted.
“But we’re celebrating Christmas together, to celebrate the journey we’ve made together so far.
“Sassuolo have been playing well for a few years, we know that, it’s difficult against them because they’ve been playing together for several years and they’ll definitely play a good match.
“We’ll do everything we can to start the new year well and start again straight away.”
