Line-ups: Milan-Atalanta

Milan in crisis must do without Suso and Alessio Romagnoli as they host high-flying Atalanta in the Lombardy Derby.

It kicks off at 17.00 GMT, follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s Serie A games on the LIVEBLOG.

The Rossoneri spent the last week in a training retreat, partly as group therapy, but mostly as punishment for their humiliating 3-0 defeat to Hellas Verona.

That result means the big spenders go into today’s clash level on points with Atalanta, who like Milan are hampered by Europa League commitments this season.

It’s really not where they expected to be and Gennaro Gattuso has so far been unable to turn the tide after Vincenzo Montella’s dismissal.

Alessio Romagnoli and Suso are suspended, but Hakan Calhanoglu returns from injury and is benched in favour of Patrick Cutrone.

Nikola Kalinic again gets the nod in attack rather than Andre Silva, with Mateo Musacchio chosen to bolster the defence.

The last time Milan had a home game in the Coppa Italia, Gianluigi Donnarumma was reduced to tears by vicious protests from the ultras, who accused him of trying to weasel his way out of the recent contract renewal.

It remains to be seen how he’ll be greeted by the San Siro crowd this evening.

Atalanta are fresh from a thrilling 3-3 draw with Lazio and the only player on the treatment table is Jose Luis Palomino.

Andrea Petagna and Papu Gomez lead the way, but it’s a special game for former Milan midfielder Bryan Cristante, who has really found his feet in Bergamo.

Milan have only won one in their last six league meetings with Atalanta. That was a 3-1 result away in May 2015.
