Simone Inzaghi was delighted to see Lazio take their chances in their 4-0 win over Crotone.
Walter Zenga’s side frustrated the Biancocelesti for long periods at the Stadio Olimpico, but after Jordan Lukaku broke the deadlock just before the hour mark the Rome side eventually ran out comfortable winners.
“Zenga’s team gave away little in the first half,” Inzaghi said after his side won at home in Serie A for the first time in two months.
“We needed to take advantage of the chances we had.
“Once we had made the breakthrough, you saw a great Lazio. For the first time I had all my attackers available, I’m happy I was able to choose.
“Hopefully I can help the team by making well thought-out and correct decisions.”
Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij’s future has been the subject of much recent speculation, with Inzaghi hopeful a contract extension can be agreed soon.
“For me, it’s pleasure to coach him, he is a quality player.
“I know they are talking about renewing his contract. I would like to find the deal under the Christmas tree! We will see.”
Victory takes the Aquile to 36 points from 17 games, although they remain fifth in the Serie A table.
And the Lazio boss is anticipating a tight encounter between title rivals Juventus and Roma later today.
“It’s always hard to make a prediction, they are two great teams.
“They are going through a great period. Playing at home, Juventus start as favourites.”
