Leonardo Semplici was both critical and proud of his SPAL players after they fought back to claim a 2-2 draw with Torino.

Not for the first time this season, the Biancazzurri gave themselves a mountain to climb after falling two goals behind early on.

However, goals by Federico Viviani and Mirco Antenucci salvaged a valuable point for the home side in their battle to avoid relegation.

“We are inattentive, we make too many mistakes,” a frustrated Semplici said after the final whistle.

However, goals by Federico Viviani and Mirco Antenucci salvaged a valuable point for the home side in their battle to avoid relegation.

“We are inattentive, we make too many mistakes,” a frustrated Semplici said after the final whistle.

“In Serie A, you cannot allow yourself to make mistakes. However, we still played a great match and we showed a great reaction.

“We were two goals down, it was a great performance to be praised.

“We need to improve, but my boys showed personality and character. It’s a more than deserved result.”

Semplici added that his side must strive to eliminate the basis errors that are hampering their first Serie A season in nearly half a century.

“In different matches we have gone behind, then we come back. We can’t allow that to happen.

“We need to eliminate clear mistakes, we are working on it and we have to have a more attentive attitude.”
