“Clearly Milan are accustomed to other situations, but in recent seasons things have gone like this. Without taking anything away from Milan, tonight Atalanta put in a fine performance, showed character and are in a strong position when practically halfway through the season.
“There is enormous satisfaction and to a degree some regret that I can’t use more of these lads, as they have shown such professionalism and worked so hard.
“Everyone has had the right attitude and kept the team identity. If you don’t have that, it becomes difficult to keep a project going.”
