Ranocchia: ‘Happy with a point’

Andrea Ranocchia is pleased Inter secured a point against Lazio but feels small incidents are now starting to go against his side.

After winning 12 of their opening 15 matches of the Serie A season, Luciano Spalletti’s side have since failed to win in four – meaning they have now dropped seven points behind League leaders Napoli.

The also recently lost to rivals Milan in the Coppa Italia, but Ranocchia is looking ahead as Inter aim to secure a return to the Champions League.

“We did well to not concede because they are very strong going forward,” the defender said of the Lazio stalemate.

“It’s a shame we didn’t bring the three points home. The important thing was to not lose in a direct head-to-head. The League is very long.

“Now we are looking ahead to Fiorentina, but we will have a little longer to recover and put things back into place. I am confident.

“In the past things were going very well for us. Now, little incidents are going against us. We need to keep working.”
