Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij is reportedly delaying a decision over whether to join Inter, as he’s waiting for Barcelona.
The Dutch international is out of contract at the end of the season, and it appears he won’t sign a new deal with the Biancocelesti.
It was thought Inter were in pole position for his signature, but Mundo Deportivo reports that the centre-back is waiting for a possible offer from Barça.
The Bluagrana weren’t keen to negotiate with Lazio, but now the De Vrij’s contract is running down they can approach the player directly.
The club has a good relationship with De Vrij’s representatives, as his agent also represents Thomas Vermaelen.
Lazio would prefer to deal with Inter, as the Nerazzurri are thought to be willing to pay a transfer fee to get the defender in January, rather than just signing him on a free transfer.
