Boca Juniors have confirmed their interest in signing Milan outcast Gustavo Gomez.

Gomez has played just 10 minutes in the Europa League for Milan this season, and reports on Tuesday suggested Boca were looking to bring in the defender on loan for the rest of the season.

“We’re negotiating with Milan and we want to sign him,” Daniel Angelici, President of the Argentine club, told TNT Sports LA,

“If we succeed [in getting him], we’ll be fine.”

Former Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is also thought to be closing in on a return to Boca.

“We’re still in the same position, his lawyers and representatives are working on [a deal],” added the patron.

“When he becomes a free agent, we’ll sit down and talk to him. He’s still contracted to a Chinese club.”
