The striker scored his 18th goal in 20 Serie A appearances, but was under no illusions at the Stadio Franchi.
“It’s a good average, but I don’t like scoring these goals if they aren’t useful for a team victory,” Icardi told Inter TV.

“We put in a bad performance and were really fortunate to take the lead. We’ve got to fight to the end with character to bring home the result. At the end of the day, that’s what we were lacking and they equalised.
“The Coach asked me to help my teammates more and I’m trying to do that. We’ve won many games this season, but over the last month we’ve been missing that spirit, that desire to fight and impress.
“You can feel the absence of these elements in the training sessions too and we must absolutely get them back. We have to work hard.”
