SPAL boss Leonardo Semplici had no problems identifying where his team went wrong in today’s 5-2 home defeat by Lazio.

“We needed a super display, but unfortunately we have not succeeded,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

Lazio now move into fourth place after their victory in Ferrara, a point ahead of city rivals Roma, who lost at home to Atalanta.

“The squad gave their all today. Unfortunately we have our limitations, but we also committed a few errors.

“Lazio are a great squad,” continued Semplici, “They have a lot of strong players, but we were still in the game at 3-2. Unfortunately, their fourth goal destroyed our morale.”

The tactician was confident his team could extend their stay in the top flight, though.

“We have to continue to keep working hard, that is my recipe, because to fight to the finish we must have trust in each other.”
