Inter, Roma and Milan legend, not to mention Serie A record-holder, Antonio Valentin Angelillo has died at the age of 80.
The striker passed away in hospital in Siena on January 5, but his family only announced the news tonight.
Nicknamed ‘the angel with the dirty face,’ he was a fiery and independent character who was reportedly sold by Inter in 1961 because of his active love-life.
The Argentine holds the Serie A record for scoring 33 goals in an 18-team division.
Angelillo played in Serie A from 1957 to 1969, representing Inter, Roma, Milan, Lecco and Genoa.
He also represented Italy with two senior caps, scoring one goal, and continued to live in Italy in Arezzo.
