The Chelsea offer on the table for Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri is reported to be in the region of €20-25m.
The 23-year-old Brazilian has chosen to play his international football for Italy and has been in the Peninsula since 2014 for first Palermo and then Roma.
News of Chelsea interest emerged last night on Sky Sport Italia and has spread rapidly, as now Mediaset Premium claim a formal offer has been made.
Roma won’t release Emerson for less than €20-25m, which still makes him a far cheaper – and younger – alternative compared to Chelsea’s first choice, Alex Sandro of Juventus.
He is just recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in May 2017 and has made only two appearances so far this season.
They were one full Coppa Italia game and a 15-minute cameo in Serie A.
Liverpool, Newcastle United and Juventus have all been linked with Emerson Palmieri.
