Koulibaly: ‘If you don't want to join Napoli…’

Kalidou Koulibaly discusses Simone Verdi’s decision to stay at Bologna - “if you don’t come to Napoli gladly, it’s better not to come at all”.

The Partenopei wanted to sign the Italian international this month, but he declared that he wanted to stay with the Rossoblu, at least until the summer.

“It’s his choice and we have to respect it,” Koulibaly told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“If you don’t come to Napoli gladly, it’s better not to come at all.”

Maurizio Sarri’s side face Atalanta this weekend, and they often struggle against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

“Napoli arrive in Bergamo with great confidence, we’ve been working for the last week after a bit of a holiday. We’ll be ready on Sunday.

“We know we have to win on Sunday to stay top, every game from now until the end will be difficult.

“Atalanta are a strong team who play their system well and always cause us problems with their 3-5-2.

“We know what we have to do though, we know they always cause us problems so we’ll go there to win, but fully aware of what we’re facing - we want these important three points.

“We’re aware we can do something big, but there’s still a long road ahead, there are still 18 games to go.

“We’ll think about them one-by-one and we’ll give everything until the end.”

Arkadiusz Milik and Faouzi Ghoulam returned to training this week, how does it feel to have them back?

“We were very pleased. Ghoulam is crazy, their return made us all happy, now we wait for the time when they can play, and we hope that they will help us between now and the end.”
