Alessandro Florenzi is confident Roma can “turn the negative trend around” when Serie A resumes against Inter on Sunday night.
The Giallorossi saw out 2017 with a Coppa Italia exit to Torino, along with a run of one point from three Serie A rounds.
“On Sunday we have a very important clash with a tough side like Inter,” Florenzi told Roma TV.
“We’ve got to turn the negative trend around that we’ve been dragging on for a few weeks. It’s best not to focus on the past, but instead think of the present and use the frustration we’ve accumulated in the performance.”
Naturally, this is also a reunion with former Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti, who is now sitting in third with Inter.
“It is an advantage that we already know Spalletti, as we know his weaknesses, but then again he knows ours too. It’ll be an entertaining match and should be fun for the neutrals too.”
Following that test at San Siro, there is the rescheduled trip to Sampdoria on January 24, just four days before the two teams meet again at the Stadio Olimpico.
That fixture at Marassi was originally set for September, but called off due to weather warnings in the city of Genoa.
“There will be a tough run of games coming up, but Roma will give their best to bring home as many points as possible.”
