It’s reported Roma and Chelsea agree on Emerson Palmieri’s price - €25m - but there are negotiations over the formula of the transfer.
The English club have been increasingly linked with the Brazilian in recent days, with suggestions last night they could even look to include Edin Dzeko.
This morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport believes the Giallorossi would not accept that, but both clubs agree that Emerson is worth around €25m.
What’s being discussed is the formula of the transfer, as the Blues would like to take him on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
The Lupi are happy for the initial deal to be a loan, but they want an obligation to buy.
It’s therefore thought a deal could be reached based on an option which becomes mandatory after a set number of appearances.
Emerson Palmieri wasn’t included in Roma’s Champions League squad, so he would be able to play for Chelsea in that competition.
Roma’s ideal replacement would be Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, who they want to take on loan and then buy in the summer.
