Lopez: 'Match Milan aggression'

It kicks off on Sunday at 17.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.

“I hear some suggesting this will be an easier game for us than Juventus, but that is absolutely not true,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

The Sardinians went into the two-week Winter break off the back of a controversial 1-0 loss to Juve.

“Right now, Milan are closer to us in the table than Juventus, but they still deserve the utmost respect. It remains a great club with immense history, the team is strong and has a lot of quality.

“In order to get points, we must repeat the performance we put in against Juventus, but play even better and with even more determination. I am convinced Milan will take an aggressive approach and we’ve got to match them on that level.

“We are aware of our potential, but have to work on whittling down those individual errors that can damage an overall team performance. It’s important to learn from our mistakes and not make them again.

“Our games recently have earned Cagliari many compliments, but it’s not time to turn that into points.”

The Sardinians are boosted by the arrival of Leandro Castan on loan from Roma and he is already in the squad.

“In just a few days, he has already shown his mentality,” continued Lopez. “I am convinced he can give the team a great deal.”
