Lopez: 'Cagliari deserved a point'

Diego Lopez believes Cagliari “deserved a point” from their 2-1 home defeat to Milan, but criticised his players for getting cheap cards.

Both teams finished the game with 10 men at the Sardegna Arena, as Ricardo Rodriguez and Nicolò Barella received double bookings.

“It was a very complicated match. Milan did well in the first half and we nonetheless managed to score a goal,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We did what we had to do and just needed a little more intensity. I think we deserved a point, but you need to score goals when you have the chance.

“Now we’ve got a big game coming up against Crotone and we’ve lost Barella, Leonardo Pavoletti as he was booked for dissent and Joao Pedro was already suspended.

“I heard some talk during the week as if Milan were on the same level as Crotone, but that is not the case. They might be close to us in the table right now, but the squad has much more quality.”
