Inter could have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Arturo Vidal as the midfielder is refusing to commit to Bayern Munich beyond this season.

Calciomercato.com explains Inter “need a top-drawer midfielder, who can give them quality, experience and the ability to break up attacks”, while satisfying Financial Fair Play.

Consequently, that player would not arrive until the summer, although Ramires may still arrive as a stop-gap for the remainder of the campaign.

Vidal was linked with the Nerazzurri last summer, and while he ultimately stayed at Bayern, the 30-year-old kept the door open to the possibility of a transfer.

“I’ll stay here until the summer, then we’ll see what happens,” he told Kicker after his side’s 4-2 win against Werder Bremen on Sunday.

The former Juventus man has 18 months left on his contract, but CM claims he has a ‘desire’ to return to Italy and could be signed for less than the €50m quoted last summer.
