Allegri: ‘Napoli are extraordinary’

Max Allegri admits Napoli are doing “extraordinary things” so Juventus “just have to stay in their slipstream and wait for our chance”.

The Old Lady beat Genoa tonight in Turin to move back to within a point of the league leaders, and the Coach spoke to Sky after the final whistle.

“There’s still a long way to go and there’s still a chance for those behind,” Allegri cautioned.

“Napoli are like a hare, so we just have to stay in their slipstream and wait for our chance.

“Right now this seems the most complicated [title defence] but don’t forget two years ago when we went on an incredible run, getting to within two points of Napoli and then passing them in the head-to-head clash.

“At the moment Napoli are doing extraordinary things because they have 54 points and we have 53.

“Juventus aren’t too far behind though, these two teams are creating a beautiful league and we have to be good to stay in their slipstream.”
