‘Roma still strong without Dzeko’

Sampdoria Coach Marco Giampaolo doesn’t know if Edin Dzeko will play tomorrow but Roma have “a top-level squad” in any case.

The Bosnian striker is believed to be a close to a move to Chelsea, but as things stand Eusebio Di Francesco will still pick him for tomorrow’s match.

“I don’t know about this,” Giampaolo shrugged when asked about Dzeko in the pre-match Press conference.

“The Giallroossi have a top-level squad and they can handle these situations. Di Francesco’s team play a European style football, they always want the ball and they play courageously.

“We’re facing a team which doesn’t wait, that doesn’t look to manage moments and who are enhanced by the physical and technical qualities of individuals.

“[Patrik] Schick is a strong player, he has all the qualities to become one of the best strikers in Europe.

“He has personality, he’s not afraid to make a mistake. The team always comes before the needs of the player, and sometimes an individual can be penalised by the needs of the team - Schick remains a very strong player.”
