Italy have been drawn Poland and European champions Portugal in Group 3 of the inaugural UEFA Nations League.

Despite their failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, Italy have been assigned a place in the top flight of the four-tier competition.

There will be six group matchdays between September and November, political grounds having separated Armenia and Azerbaijan, plus Russia and Ukraine.

The four Leagues have been split up into four groups, with the 55 countries allocated as per their position on the UEFA national-team coefficient rankings.
