The Aquile comfortably won at the Olimpico in this rescheduled Week 12 fixture, originally rained off in November.

“The 3-0 result doesn’t reflect the game, as we lost to an own goal and two counter-attacks,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“We put in a strong performance and conceded during our best moments of the match, while Thomas Strakosha made more than one game-saving block.

“We spent much of the game in Lazio’s half and created three or four scoring opportunities. We were always in the game, but their second goal knocked the wind out of our sails.

“Lazio are now clear in third place, so Simone Inzaghi earned all of this and I’m sure they’ll fight to the end for a place in the Champions League.

“Unfortunately, losing the likes of Kevin Lasagna and Silvan Widmer was a heavy blow and we’ve been struggling with three games in a week.

“It is a difficult moment, but we’ll get over it once some players return from injury.”
