Schick has been ruled out for the next couple of weeks after picking up another muscular problem in training yesterday.

The ex-Sampdoria striker is prone to injuries and his planned move to Juventus fell through in July because of a cardiac irregularity.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, Schick’s fitness levels will certainly influence the decision on whether to sell Dzeko to Chelsea.

The deadline is on Wednesday night, so there is precious little time to find a suitable replacement.

The best chance Chelsea have at this point is to convince the Giallorossi to accept Michy Batshuayi as part of the deal.
