The FIGC will be put under a commissionership, as delegates failed to elect a new President this evening.
Gabriele Gravina, Cosimo Sibilia and Damiano Tommasi were standing to replace Carlo Tavecchio who stood down after Italy failed to qualify for the World Cup.
The first ballot requires a candidate to achieve at least 75 per cent of the vote, which is split between seven groups.
The groups are Serie A, Serie B, the Players’ Union, the Lega Pro, the Coach’s Union, the Referees’ Association and the Amateur League.

However, due to the voting structure not all are equal, with the Amateur League controlling around 34 per cent of the vote.
Unsurprisingly the first ballot failed to elect a President, so 66 per cent was required in the second round of voting.
Damiano Tommasi finished bottom in the second and third rounds so could no longer win, and a fourth ballot required a simple majority to win.
However, Amateur League chief Sibilia urged delegates to spoil their ballots, and as a result no-one has been elected.
In the final round Sibilia achieved 1.85 per cent of the vote, with 39.06 per cent for Gravina and 59.09 per cent blank ballots.
Since no candidate could achieve a majority, the Federation will now be placed into commissionership, with CONI, the Olympic Federation, appointing a new head until new elections can be held.
The result, or lack of one, means both the Lega Serie A and the FIGC have no President, with the Lega Serie B only electing Mauro Balata in November, after he had served as commissioner.
