Andrea Pinamonti’s mooted move to Sassuolo reportedly collapsed because the Inter striker rejected the move.

It appeared yesterday that the youngster would move to the Neroverdi, with a buyback clause for the Nerazzurri.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs had indeed reached a deal for €7m, plus another €2m for Federico Valietti.

There would have been a gentleman’s agreement allowing the Beneamata to bring him back for €10m before June 2019.

However, when the proposal was put to the player and his entourage it was rejected, the newspaper reports.

Mauro Icardi’s injury therefore had nothing to do with the deal collapsing, it was completely Pinamonti’s choice.
