Juventus have confirmed that midfielder Blaise Matuidi has suffered a thigh injury, which will require further tests.

The French international went off injured in the first half of yesterday’s Sassuolo match, and it was reported earlier today he could face a month on the sidelines.

“Following the injury sustained yesterday against Sassuolo, Blaise Matuidi underwent tests at J|Medical on Monday afternoon, which revealed a mild-medium tear to the flexor muscles in his left thigh,” the Bianconeri confirmed on their official website.

“The Bianconeri midfielder has already started therapy and further tests will be necessary to better ascertain the extent of his injury.”

Matuidi is therefore at serious risk of missing out on the first leg of the Old Lady's Champions League tie with Tottenham Hotspur.
