Lazio’s spokesman insists Simone Inzaghi and Felipe Anderson simply had “a civil and natural discussion” after the Genoa loss.

It was reported earlier today that Coach and player had a furious bust-up after the surprise loss, with Lucas Leiva having to come between them before it turned physical.

“It was a civil and natural discussion after a match like the one with Genoa,” Arturo Diaconale clarified on Lazio Style Radio.

“It was then fired-up and fictionalised into being a fight which never happened. It was only right for the Coach to express his disappointment in how the game went and point out the shortcomings.

“Talk of a confrontation which almost turned physical is an exaggeration that I wish to deny.

“We’d have reason to worry if things like this didn’t happen, it’s a sign of involvement and attachment to the shirt.

“There was nothing dramatic or irreparable between Inzaghi and Felipe Anderson, it fell completely into the logic of what happens in a dressing room.

“The Coach did what he had to do, there was a mistake on the part of the whole team, who didn’t react to Genoa’s game, and now we must recover.

“Sometimes players have a bad day, but then you overcome everything. It seems there’s a desperate search for something to feed tension, but that has to be tempered.

“The fans should not think that there is a climate or a state of siege or revolt in the dressing room because it’s not true.”
