Edinson Cavani admits he has kept “beautiful images in my heart” of the time he worked under Walter Mazzarri at Napoli.

Cavani scored over 100 goals in three seasons under Mazzarri, before following the Coach out of Napoli in 2013, and the Paris Saint-Germain striker wished his former mentor all the best at Torino.

“We all have beautiful memories of him,” he told Tuttosport in an open letter.

“I keep beautiful images of the time we spent together in Italy in my heart. I remember it with great affection.

“I’ve seen him play on TV several times. He’s a very good, strong young striker. He runs a lot, is powerful and has a finisher’s instinct. He knows how to score in several different ways.

“He can also become a champion one day: I hope so. Dear Mister, I wait for you and Belotti in Europe with Toro!”
