Luis Alberto is enjoying a breakout season for Lazio, contributing eight goals and nine assists in 31 competitive games, and signed a new contract with the Aquile earlier in the week.

“He arrived at the end of the transfer market in 2016 after preseason with Liverpool,” Alvaro Torres told Radio Crc.

“He also had other offers, but let’s just say that he found it hard adapting to his new life in Rome.

“However, his qualities emerged towards the end of last season and he’s gone on to explode this year.

“He started preseason, focusing on being an important player and wanting to have a great season.

“Inzaghi and Tare then helped him in various interviews, telling him he’d become an important part of the project.

“Sarri’s Napoli? I’ve never talked about Sarri with Luis. Personally, I think he’s an exceptional Coach.

“We’re seeing the work he’s doing with Napoli and we certainly can’t say otherwise. I can imagine plenty of Coaches being fans of Luis.

“I don’t know specifically if and how much Sarri likes him, but from Luis’ point of view, I know he’ll keep himself focused on Lazio, where he’s very happy.

“Only in the summer will we talk. His qualities were visible for years before, but it’s difficult for him to leave Lazio.

“Some important offers were rejected only a month ago. He’s only just renewed and therefore it’s difficult for him to move on.”
