Massimo Oddo is targeting Europa League qualification for Udinese after a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

The Bianconeri have lost only three of the former Pescara boss’ first 13 matches in charge of the club, twice to Napoli and once to Lazio.

The run has transformed Udinese from possible relegation candidates into European hopefuls and Oddo is convinced his side have a chance of finishing in the top six or seven.

“We have 33 points,” the Friuli Coach said as his team prepare for tomorrow’s match against Torino.

“We are doing very well, we have our chance and we need to go for it. But we need to bear in mind that we are competing against very strong teams.”

With Toro also in the running for continental qualification, Oddo was asked whether tomorrow’s clash was crucial to his side’s aspirations.

“It’s early to say that. Whoever loses will obviously fall further away from sixth position, and it will be more difficult to get back up there.

“But we need to bear in mind that even seventh could be enough for a place in Europe. So we shouldn’t get too down if tomorrow goes badly.”
